Important Advocacy Resources

Posted over 14 years ago by Patricia Crane

UnitedHealthcare Texas sent a formal endorsement letter today to TNP and to Senator Robert Duncan, Chair of the Senate Finance Sub-committee on Fiscal Matters. You can read the letter along with all of our legislative materials at www.texasnp.org under the Advocacy tab. In order to access this information you will need to enter your TNP username and password.

Just today we have uploaded all of our one-pagers for you to use when contacting your elected officials in Austin. From time to time and as they appear across my desk, we will also begin providing links to pertinent news stories seen in Texas newspapers as well as anything of interest around the country. If you see anything in your local paper, please let me know and we will put it on our web site. To get the most up to date info, go to www.texasnp.org and click on the Advocacy tab. You will then be prompted to enter your username and password.

I have also posted a copy of a letter sent from the Federal Trade Commission to Florida state representative Daphne Campbell regarding their current regulatory structure. Florida is a fighting the same battle as we are here in Texas and this letter has been sent to all of our bill authors and we are coordinating our own request to the FTC regarding our situation in Texas. So stay tuned!

You will also find an example of a patient support form. It is in a word format so you can delete and add information to meet your needs. Please feel free to have friends and family along with your patients, to sign a form to be sent to your state level officials. To determine who represents you in the Texas House and Senate, go to http://www.fyi.legis.state.tx.us plug in the home address and hit the button. You can either email or fax them to your representatives but please make sure that you either scan them in or email them to me as well. I would like to be able to deliver copies to all of our bill authors so they can see who they are actually helping.
